This week has been all about the admin. Funny how it’s going like that at the moment. Editing the romance novels is generally only taking a week, cause of the pre-planning I think so they aren’t requiring as much work at the other end. Plus they are simpler stories. So then I get onto doing admin stuff, both for myself and for Conflux. Then a week later, I’m onto another novel…
I’m planning on spending March doing a bit more drafting. And I’m going the plan the third book in the new gadda trilogy. Might as well get ready to go if I do sell it
So this week, what did I do? I’ve found some people to read Much Ado About Love, so will be interested to see what the feedback is. I’ve re-arranged my hard-drive, and spent Wednesday looking at old short stories. A couple were ready to be submitted, so they have been. The others were put into my drafts folder and I’ve now got a LOT of short story drafts to work on.
I spent yesterday doing some work on a short film. I’m not going to show it publicly – it was more a learning process than anything. I have learnt that the footage I shoot with my camera isn’t very good and if I want to use moving pictures, either I buy them from elsewhere or I get a better camera. But still, the knowledge pool is growing and that’s a good thing.
Overall, life just trundles on. I am SERIOUSLY over the boot – can’t believe I’ve still got four and a half weeks to go wearing it. It’s heavy and awkward and makes getting out of the house a chore and I hate being stuck in the house. Not that I leave it all that often, but knowing it’s hard (or as is the case this weekend cause Hubby is away I can’t at all) just does something to me. I chafe at restrictions like that badly.
I’d be so shit at being a prisoner. Curtail my freedom, even if I don’t want it, and I become a wreck.
Next week I’m going to dive back into the world of the gadda and plan the sixth novel in the series (wow!). It’s been more than six months since I was there – I’m looking forward to it.
